Natural Honey Soap

The main benefit of natural handmade soaps is that they are in fact made with all natural ingredients. The traditional soapmaking method was and is still called the cold process method. This process uses natural fats and oils, mixed with a lye (sodium hydroxide, which comes from ash) and water solution. The oils and lye undergo the process of saponification which is the process and reaction that creates soap. Glycerin is a result of this saponification process and this is one of the highly nourishing and gentle aspects of traditionally made soap. In comparison, “soaps” you find in the grocery stores are technically detergents or cleansers, which have such high cleansing properties that they strip your skin and hairs of their natural oils.

A product is only as good as the ingredients it’s made from. Our soaps are made in small batches by hand with all natural ingredients including both animal and plant fats, as well as luxurious butters like Shea and cocoa. We source the best ingredients for our soaps and only use pure components in their most natural state. Each bar is unique in natural color, smell, and texture, which is a direct result of a special combination of butters, animal and vegetable fats, natural clays, herbs, seeds, flowers, and pure botanical essential oils. We also add raw honey from our personal apiary to every batch of soap. Honey is a natural humectant, which is great for skin as it can help it retain moisture. Honey also helps increase the lather of our cold process soaps. Furthermore, honey is antibacterial, antimicrobial, and is full of enzymatic activity all of which may help skin issues or dryness. The result of our technique and natural components is a mild and moisturizing bar that gives a creamy long lasting lather, and leaves your skin feeling clean, soft, and healthy.
